Barre Balance, an independent fitness studio in Liverpool, has just launched a corporate wellness campaign to help employers in the city give their staff members a mental and physical health and wellbeing boost, with a week of free online classes for each employee during October.
Natalie Butler, founder of Barre Balance, explained just how good practising barre is for people, helping with core strength development, increasing flexibility, strengthening and lengthening the body, reducing stress and anxiety, clearing the mind and promoting positive energy, Explore Liverpool reports.
“Given the toll that the pandemic has taken and continues to take on the nation’s mental health, whether through bereavement, the impact of lockdown, financial worries, not to mention anxieties about continuing to work from home or going back to work in a public facing job, we at Barre Balance want to do our bit to help.
“We’ve experienced first-hand how life-enhancing the practice can be, and we want to pay that forward during these challenging times,” she said.
Every organisation that signs up to Bounce Back with Barre will give their employees access to livestreamed classes for a week, with the timetable made up of ten classes over the seven days. You can choose from early morning, lunchtime express or evening classes, so it’s easy to fit in around work or homelife.
Barre itself is a combination of pilates, yoga and ballet, delivering a mindful movement practice that not only prioritises physical health but mental as well – both of which are immensely important at the moment, with so much going on in the world affecting us on a daily basis.
