Whatever kind of business you run from your offices in Liverpool, you’ll no doubt be using some form of technology. In fact, there are few if any companies that can get by without some hardware and software these days.
Of course, technology is constantly changing and if you’ve been sticking with the same system for years you might feel that it’s time to update what your workers are using. A recent article in Training Journal offered some advice on how best to do this to make sure your teams embrace it rather than reject it.
Firstly, you should survey your workers about what the current system does, what they need it to do and whether there’s anything they’d like it to do. Using focus groups to trial prototypes is another top tip to not only get people on board but to make sure that what you’re investing in is the right solution.
If you have a larger company, piloting the project is advisable, followed by a gradual rollout. The news provider explained that if you simply take away the old system overnight, it’s more likely that the new system will fail.
The key to widespread adoption is being able to articulate how it’s going to make people’s jobs easier. Any new solution you introduce also needs to be intuitive. While offering some training on it is advisable, you want it to be simple enough that the majority of your staff can figure things out for themselves with minimal intervention.
Given that stress affects nearly 75 per cent of UK adults, according to research from Mental Health Foundation earlier this year, you want to make sure that any changes you make don’t add to your team’s stress, but alleviate it.
