Liverpool Kings Doc To Be Redeveloped

The Kings Dock area in Liverpool is set to be redeveloped, potentially including a hotel, new apartments, a Winter Garden and a 2,000-seat ice rink… great news for anyone working out of office space in Liverpool looking for something fun to do on their lunch break or after office hours.

According to the Liverpool Echo, a consultation on certain phases of the development will begin this month (September) so if you’d like to have your say on the plans now’s the time to make your voices heard.

Joe Anderson, Liverpool mayor, was quoted by the news source as saying: “This is brilliant news for Liverpool and could ultimately lead to the creation of a new riverside destination, boosting our visitor economy and creating jobs for local people.”

New offices are also set to be built at Monarch’s Quay by call centre firm The Contact Company, which intends to recruit some 1,500 members of staff to fill the site. It’s thought that hundreds of jobs would also be created during the construction process and during the later phases of the new development.

Currently, King’s Dock is home to a number of hotels, the landmark ACC Liverpool, lots of parking spaces at The Liverpool Waterfront Car Park, The Echo Wheel of Liverpool and the John Lennon Peace Monument.

If you’re looking for something fun to do in your lunch hour or after work and want some incredible views of the Liverpool Waterfront, make sure you hop on board the Wheel of Liverpool – it’s a sight not to be missed!
