Liverpool Waters Reveals First Look Of New Central Docks

If you’ve already rented out Liverpool office space, no doubt you know about the new Central Docks neighbourhood set to take centre stage on the city’s iconic waterfront, a new 24-hour community that is intended to revitalise the former docklands site.

The £5 billion Liverpool Waters project will see 150 acres of the docklands transformed, making it the biggest regeneration project that the city has ever seen – and one of the biggest of its kind in the entire world.

Now, the team behind Liverpool Waters has released eight new plots ripe for investor development, which are already attracting lots of interest and have already had visitors coming to the city to see what opportunities are there first hand.

The group’s director of development, Lindsey Ashworth, said: “Our ambition has always been to create a waterfront for the world, a sustainable environment with stunning views where people and businesses can flourish together. Unveiling this southern part of the Central Docks neighbourhood marks the next chapter in the Liverpool Waters story and brings us one step closer to re-establishing Liverpool’s waterfront as a gateway to the world.”

Interestingly, back in January a set of drawings of the world-famous waterfront dating back 200 years were discovered, with more than 3,500 designs found that were dated as far back as the mid-1800s. They show the original foundations of old buildings and the sub-surface level of the docks.

Liverpool Waters called on consulting engineering company Curtins to evaluate the drawings and they are set to be used as blueprints for future planning in the local area.
