Plans Unveiled For £100m Mixed Use Liverpool Development

Liverpool is thriving as it undergoes billions of pounds of regeneration works, creating new office space, residential areas, shopping districts, and leisure and hospitality facilities. There’s also the landmark new Everton Stadium due to open at Bramley Moore Dock next year.

The latest phase of this exciting reinvention of the city is the Soapworks mixed use property development, Liverpool Business News reports. The £100m scheme will create 381 apartments on a former tannery site in the upcoming Northern Quarter on the edge of the city centre, on the corner of Leeds street and Scotland Road.

The high-quality project will include one, two and three bedroom living spaces, a gym, a coffee shop and EV charging stations. The developers are Legacie, who are already behind several recent schemes in the area, including residential blocks in the Baltic Triangle.

Legacie chief executive John Morley said: “Soapworks represents a major step forward in Liverpool’s regeneration. This project will not only deliver much-needed housing but will also be a vibrant hub with world-class amenities.”

“We’re creating a space where residents can live, work, and thrive, while supporting Liverpool’s long-term growth and economic development. We are also looking forward to working with Liverpool City Council again. At its most recent developer forum, this part of the city centre was identified as having the potential to be a massive driver of investment.”

The development will aim to respect the heritage of the area, whilst also creating a contemporary space that is a pleasure to live, work, and spend recreational time in. About 200 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase, with a number of permanent jobs in the new amenities.
